Overseas Americans Remember
An Invitation to Commemorate Dutch-American Friendship Day
“There are no friends more faithful than they.” John Adams
Dutch-American Friendship Day is April 19th
On that day in 1782, John Adams,
who was to become the second President of the United States
became Minister Plenipotentiary,
the first American Ambassador to the Netherlands.
For almost 244 years, the Dutch and American nations
have had continuous, unbroken diplomatic relations,
the longest unbroken diplomatic relations
between the United States and any nation.
Fittingly, in 1982, the year of the Bicentennial,
President Ronald Reagan signed HJ 410,
a joint resolution that declared April 19th
Dutch-American Friendship Day.
OAR - Overseas Americans Remember
will commemorate that friendship on
April 15th
4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Raadhuislaan 22 2242CP Wassenaar
